Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)

Policy

The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), is an independent professional association representing 95,000 civil engineer members worldwide. The Advocacy Team was commissioned by ICE to undertake research on how they can leverage their membership and be more active in policy discussions on decarbonisation. To facilitate this work, we first produced policy briefs outlining actors active in this space. We then conducted a series of case studies with organisations, initiatives and experts to help inform ICE’s future strategy and partnerships. This included speaking with representatives from the NDC Partnership, the World Resources Institute (WRI), the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and Chatham House. We collated our findings and recommendations into a final internal report through a policy assessment matrix and an in-depth breakdown for each case study.
