Jordan Nann

Jordan Nann, Special Assistant to the Director, supports in Public Affairs and Governance at The Advocacy Team. She holds an MSc in Philosophy and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and a BA from Trinity College Dublin in Philosophy and Politics. She has a background in campaigning, content writing, and research.

Alice Edwards

Alice is a Junior Associate at the Advocacy Team and supports the team on research and analysis for a variety of projects ranging from air pollution to homeless advocacy. She holds a BA Hons degree in modern languages from Oxford University and is particularly interested in Latin American international development and political relations. Before joining the Advocacy Team, Alice worked to canvas support for a large-scale reforestation project in Northeastern Brazil and assisted in its early implementation and coordination. She has also volunteered at a social-educational charity in Rio de Janeiro and worked as a translator in Madrid.

Elendu Isabella

Elendu Isabella, a dynamic professional with a background in Computer Engineering, excels as the trusted Assistant to the CEO at The Advocacy Team. She’s been opportune to manage a team of writers and activists showcasing her determination and adept leadership. Isabella continues to contribute significantly to the efficiency and productivity of the executive team in her current assistant role.

Nasim Salad

Nasim started her career at the ONE Campaign and has over five years experience in assessing UK ODA. She led the analysis of the Real Aid Index at the ONE Campaign as well as predicting the consequences of the UK aid cuts. Nasim has worked on advocacy campaigns to increase financing to the Global Fund to Fight Aids, TB and Malaria, Gavi the Vaccine Alliance and the Global Partnership for Education. She has previously interviewed the Deputy Mayor of London, Dr Debbie Weekes-Bernard to an audience of over 100 people at Black Girl Festival. She holds an MA in International Development and Human Security from Nottingham Trent University. As well as her interest in international development, Nasim enjoys listening to live music, cycling and going to drag shows.

Mathilde Benguigui

Mathilde Benguigui supports various projects for a range of clients at the Advocacy Team. She has an MA in Strategic Communications within the War Studies Department at King’s College London. Originally from France, Mathilde has also lived in the UK, Latvia and the United States, allowing her to immerse herself in diverse cultures.

 

Mathilde’s academic journey includes a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Université Paris II Panthéon Assas, where she developped a keen interest in social policies and advocacy, particularly in the realms of education and child protection. Notably, she participated in a cohort study during her internship at the Paris Observatory for Child Protection, focusing on 12-years-old children in foster care in Paris during 2021. Mathilde wrote her Master’s thesis on affirmative action in the French Higher Education system.

 

Beyond her studies, Mathilde has been involved in various student organisations, where she engaged to create a safe place for students to discuss and debate together. During her spare time, she enjoys experiencing different cultures through culinary adventures. She also likes spending quality time with her friends and family by playing board games.

Soufyane Badreddine

Soufyane supports the communication efforts of The Advocacy Team, collaborating across various projects to drive impactful change. Previously, he worked as a media relations officer and copywriter for tech2impact. Currently, he engages in advocacy initiatives at the University of Exeter and beyond, aiming to improve the university experiences of racially minoritised students. Soufyane is also pursuing a PhD at the University of Exeter, where his research examines the university experiences of French diaspora students in France, particularly those of Maghrebi descent, exploring how identity and cultural background influence their educational paths. His work combines academic insight and practical experience, underscored by a strong commitment to a socially just future.

Areeshya Thevamanohar

Areeshya delivers research, writing, analysis and facilitation support to a range of policy, research and advocacy projects for clients including UNICEF, the Wellcome Trust, Impact on Urban Health, Malala Fund, the National Lottery Community Fund and the Institution for Civil Engineers. She is also a trainer for the Advocacy Team’s Official Development Training course. Areeshya recently completed a  secondment with  the Clean Air Fund, where she served as an Analyst in the Strategic Partnerships and Communications team and led the coordination of research projects including the 2023 State of Global Air Quality Funding report, Pollution to Solution in Six African Cities report and Philanthropic Foundation Funding for Clean Air report.

 

 

Areeshya has also contributed data compilation and analysis to support the development of the Equity Index, and contributed research to the Index’s consultancy projects for IDB Invest and Development Impact Managers and Advisors (DIMA). She has also spoken on various panels to discuss the work of the Index, including the London Development Symposium, Partos DEI Learning Trajectory for NGOs and the London Universities Development Summit. She graduated from King’s College London with a BA in Politics and the Associateship of King’s College Award, and co-authored a policy paper as a member of the Economic & Business Policy Centre at the King’s Think Tank.

Reem Berrada

Reem Berrada is public affairs and policy professional within The Advocacy Team. Her responsibilities include qualitative and quantitative research, high profile events, report writing, organising parliamentary trips and developing advocacy strategies. Notable clients include the NGO Forest Coalition, Coalition for Global Prosperity, UNICEF UK, ThinkFilm, BOND, Embrace Lebanon, ONE Campaign, Global Witness and Bloody Good Period. She has facilitated parliamentary trips to Ethiopia and Lebanon and currently plays a key role in supporting the UK All-Party Parliamentary Group on Global Deforestation. Prior to her current role, Reem gained experience at the London Stock Exchange, promoting green finance initiatives within the Government Relations Team. She holds an MA in Legal and Political Theory from University College London and has a keen interest in Middle East North African affairs and Climate.

Alex Martins

Alex is a researcher, facilitator and advocate passionate about creating a more equitable international development sector. She has conducted research and other projects on topics related to the reform of the international development system for a range of organisations, including the Independent Commission for Aid Impact, Peace Direct, Healing Solidarity, ODI, Integrity, Initiatives of Change and the UK Department for International Development. At the Advocacy Team, she served as the Research Lead on a project supporting Wellcome to apply an equity lens to its external policy, advocacy, government relations and strategic partnerships. She Co-founded The Equity Index with Lorriann Robinson, a UK-based social enterprise that focuses on fostering equitable policies, practices and partnerships across all types of UK development organisations. Born in Johannesburg, she was raised in South Africa and Brazil and is currently based in London, UK.

Lorriann Robinson

Lorriann began her career as an events and research assistant for the Fabian Society, a political think-tank affiliated to the UK Labour Party. She then spent five years working in children’s rights policy for Barnardos’ and the NSPCC, before moving into international development as a Senior Policy Adviser for World Vision UK. At World Vision Lorriann conducted research on child labour, early marriage and FGM/C in India, Albania, Ethiopia and Malawi. She joined the ONE Campaign in 2014, where she played a leading role in the campaign to enshrine the 0.7% aid target into UK law, helped to raise billions in development finance for health and education programmes in the poorest countries, and secured ground-breaking policy reforms to fight corruption.
