Case Study
THE REAL AID INDEX/The ONE Campaign
Research
ONE is a global movement campaigning to end extreme poverty and preventable disease 2030. Over the past three years the The Advocacy Team has supported ONE’s UK and global policy teams to deliver a range of campaigns and policy products including policy analysis and research to develop the Real Aid Index, support to draft ONE’s policy brief, Britain’s Greatest Export and more recently, we have supported ONE’s campaign for fairer distribution of vaccines around the world.
The Real Aid Index was the first index to assess the quality of aid spending by UK Government departments. In 2019, The Advocacy Team led the research and analysis for two government departments; supported the development of the indicators and the advocacy strategy. Now in its second year, the Real Aid Index is recognised by campaigners as a leading tool for scrutinising aid spending and helping campaigners to make the case for aid spending that is poverty-focused, effective and transparent.
